Founder & Managing Director
For Founder and Managing Director, Denise, Wee Care is the vehicle for creativity in guiding children and their parents. “I am compelled to find workable solutions to complex problems, while expressing what I believe in and helping parents and children grow without being bound by convention and tradition,” she says. Denise constantly updates the teaching methods used at the Centre to stay at the forefront of Infant Development, Early Childhood Education and Early Intervention.
Her strong grounding in psychology, linguistics and education, as well as the vast experience gained from working with children with a wide range of developmental profiles in Hong Kong, Indonesia, India and Singapore, enable her to design and develop innovative and concrete programmes without resorting to fads and hype. She also trains and supervises the educators at Wee Care, ensuring that all of them meet and exceed the high educational and performance requirements of the Company.
Denise, a former Humanities Scholar, holds a double Doctorate in Education from the Institute of Education (University College London) and the National Institute of Education (Nanyang Technological University Singapore). Her preceding qualifications include a Master of Education degree from Sheffield University in the United Kingdom as well as an Honours degree in Psychology and a degree in English (Linguistics), both from the National University of Singapore. Her current research interests are cross-disciplinary and include post-structural analyses of power and politics in education, the development of numeracy in young children and social thinking processes in children with autistic spectrum disorders.
Denise is married, with three children, but finds time to stay deeply involved in “Acacia”, Wee Care’s CSR (corporate social responsibility) arm to establish and promote good-quality education and empowerment programmes for young children and women in numerous developing nations around the world.

Director, Wee Care @ Sunter Jakarta
Business Director Ratna Suryati (or Cing, as she is affectionately called), has a Bachelor’s degree in Computerized Accounting from Bina Nusantara University, Jakarta, Indonesia.
She worked in the field of information technology in Jakarta from January 2001 to February 2009 before making the decision to resign from this position so as to spend more time with her young son. She now has two boys and can certainly see the Wee Care difference in their lives!
Cing brings with her a firm and steady background, not just in business fundamentals but also in an obvious empathy for the needs of young children and their parents.
She started Wee Care Sunter to inspire Indonesian parents to accept and love their children for who they are. Cing believes that parents play a big part in developing the young child’s sense of self, his self-esteem and self-concept. She also believes that children are intelligent in different ways, and that learning to be creative problem-solvers is going to be integral in a globalized world.
