Every year since 2012, Wee Care teachers and staff have put up a storytelling event in our roof garden to raise funds for humanitarian school projects in Singapore and Asia. Our stories have revolved around the themes of pirates, the playground and a slumber party! More importantly, through the generous giving of Wee Care parents, both past and present, as well as faithful family and friends, we have consistently managed to raise funds into the thousands of dollars for numerous projects. These have included Care Corner Singapore, a Kids Club programme in Timor Leste for street kids and an outreach programme for very poor families in Malaysia.
We reach out to give because we have been given so much. The giving of our time and efforts in planning, rehearsing, sheer sweat and sometimes, embarrassment at a lost line, is but a small price to pay for the thankfulness that we have in our hearts for what we have in Singapore and in Wee Care. Please join us at our next storytelling event, or better still, sign up to contribute/participate as a storyteller, singer, musician or usher! We would love to have you with us soon!
