Gardening with Miss Rumphius

6th March 2013

We read the story of “Miss Rumphius” who was asked by her grandfather to make the world a more beautiful place. In her old age, Miss Rumphius decided one day to spread lupine seeds wherever she walked. This resulted in beautiful lupine plants sprouting everywhere, a gorgeous outcome for the environment!

On Wednesday, we donned gloves and repotted Japanese Rose plants before showering them with lots of water. We learnt that plants are living things that need soil, water, air and sunlight to grow.

We had so much fun – it was a wonderful learning experience! We had fun with the sprinkler system too!
