In the story, “Bear at Work”, we read about a postman bear who delivered the mail. In the process, we learnt how mail is delivered. In Open Learning, we created a simple version of a post office. We wanted the children to understand how a letter travels from a postbox to a friends mailbox.
We then took the opportunity in Life Skills to visit a SingPost branch. We wanted the children to experience the whole process of mailing a letter!
We helped the children to pen their thoughts or draw a picture before sealing this into an envelope. With envelopes in hand, the children queued up to buy stamps. The children stuck their stamps onto the envelopes with great care and patiently took their turn to slot the envelopes into the mailbox.
We had so much fun — it was a great learning experience!
